Polish National Emblem

Poland's official national emblem is a white eagle with golden beak and talons, its head poised to the right, and set against a red shield.

The Polish national anthem, called Mazurek Dabrowskiego, was written in July 1797 in Reggio (Italy) by Jozef Wybicki, which was one of the organisers of general Jan Henryk Dabrowski's Polish Army in Italy. This song rapidly became the favourite hymn of all Poles. Iit has been officially announced as the national anthem in 1927.
